The Smart Power is a powerful battery backup system that works both as a primary or backup system that utilizes a 24 volt system (two 12v batteries). Sporting cast iron and stainless steel construction, including a three year warranty., the unit pumps over 2500 gallons per hour and can last up to eight days without power. It also features a built-in alarm and can run on house current or battery power. 

A primary sump pump is the one that does the daily work. It’s plugged into your home’s regular electricity and sits in a basin at the lowest point of your basement. When water fills the basin to a certain level, the pump turns on automatically, pushing the water out and away from your foundation. This keeps your basement dry under normal conditions.

But what happens when the power goes out?

A battery backup sump pump is your emergency plan. It is a second, independent system that runs on a powerful battery. If the electricity fails, or if your primary pump stops working for any reason, the backup system kicks in automatically. It uses its own power source to keep pumping water out, ensuring your basement remains protected even when your regular pump cannot function.
